Back in November of 2012 I posted about The TSR Reprints I Want and I never followed up to that post. I was scrolling through my reading list and noticed that post was still getting read from time to time as I passed by the stats portion of the page. Just for fun I decided to revisit that post and see what is and what is not available now.
A blog featuring the game related ramblings and ideas of a role-playing gamer since 1980. My interests include many games and gaming related topics, but my main focus will be on Open Ended Original Edition Old School Fantasy Adventure Sandbox Role Playing Games (OEOEFASRPG™) The Open-Ended Sandbox Exploration of Dungeons, Wilderness and Cities. Occasionally, other topics outside of gaming will be discussed here as well.

Update on The TSR Reprints I Want...
B/X D&D
Then: No pdf or print option available.
D&D Rules Cyclopedia
Then: No pdf or print option available.
Now: A range of options available for the Rules Cyclopedia from pdf, softcover book, hardcover book, and bundles with pdf and print together.
AD&D Unearthed Arcana
Then: No pdf or print option available.
Now: Several options for Unearthed Arcana including pdf, standard color hardcover, premium color hardcover, and bundles with pdf and print together.
Gamma World (1st Edition)
Then: No pdf or print option available.
Now: .Softcover, pdf, or a combo purchase for original Gamma World are available.
Gamma World (2nd Edition)
Then: No pdf or print option available.
Now: The only option available for Gamma World 2E is pdf.
All of them are available in pdf and half of them are available in a print on demand format. I have found my B/X books but I will most likely purchase the pdfs in the future to avoid further table use of my originals. I will probably get them printed in a spiral binding. The Rules Cyclopedia is a must buy for me. I have had two copies over the years and parted ways with both of them regrettably. Another must buy is Unearthed Arcana so I can replicate my old collection that needs replaced. I had a copy of the original Gamma World years ago so I will most likely get a printed copy soon. Second edition is one I have never owed but I just might sprint for the pdf at some time in the near future.

Gamma World
We're in the process of moving so I am making a lazy post today just to say this is what I picture when I think of Gamma World.

Getting the Band Back Together?!
If everything goes right - planets aligning, etc. - and we can clear a night on everyone's schedule there's a good chance that two of my buddies from my high school days (1987-1991) will be doing some role-playing with some other guys rounded up by my cousin. Technically, it's not the whole "band" - it will only be Jamie and Travis - but it should be cool anyway. We used to play all sorts of rpg's and video games together back in the day. It would be cool to game again with these guys.
I met Jamie in the second grade - that's a looooonnnnnngggggg time ago - and we discovered D&D together with the Basic Set. We played as much as possible and missed a lot of sleep growing up...lol.. We moved on to other games including Car Wars, Gamma World, GURPS, Palladium Fantasy, & Talislanta.
I met Travis through Jamie. Travis introduced us to RIFTS. I still remember looking through the rulebook that first time. I couldn't help but think of Gamma World and all the fun Jamie and I used to have with that game.
I'm not sure what we are going to play once we do get a game night organized. Jamie and I have talked of trying out Castles & Crusades because it would be both familiar to AD&D but the rules are streamlined; I'm not saying the rules are better but they are easier to understand. Of course, we might just dust off an old favorite like RIFTS. I have the RIFTS Ultimate Edition that I have yet to run. I'm also considering really rules-light such as Microlite74 or something similar. To tell the truth, the game system really isn't that important but getting the chance to game with some old buddies is what's really important. Regardless of the system used I'm sure we'll have fun. First, we all just have to get a free night.
Fingers crossed...
