Amanda at Drama, Dice, and Damsons has passed an award on to me. THANKS!!!!
It is my first such award so that is pretty cool. Naturally there are provisos to the accepting of such awards, which are the
following:
Here are the instructions for the lucky recipients:
1. Nominate 15 fellow bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award.
2. In the same post, add the Versatile Blogger Award.
3. In the same post, thank the blogger who nominated you in a post with a link back to their blog.
4. In the same post, share 7 completely random pieces of information about yourself.
5. In the same post, include this set of rules.
6. Inform each nominated blogger of their nomination by posting a comment on each of their blogs.
Points 2, 3 and 5 are now covered. Now for the rest of it.
I am aware that some of those listed below may already be lucky recipients. If so, accept both my apologies and the admiration that getting another nomination implies.

ReplyDeleteYou most certainly deserve the honor, as The Semi-Retired Gamer is about as versatile as they come.
Great job!
@Eric: Thank you!
ReplyDeleteSometimes I wonder if a post is too far removed from the title but it seems that people do not mind the side treks.
I don't know, Charlie; unless you've got a specific business (or product... or agenda) you wish to promote, one track blogs can get pretty darned boring (imho). And if you don't dig the subject, even those centric blogs are easily passed over.
ReplyDeleteI tend to look at these things as mini-zines that people used to put together for their own (and their friend's) entertainment. It is fine to stick with a central concept (yours being semi-retired gaming), but you've also got to have some fun with it (which you do with your general geekdom homages).
I've promoted this blog to anyone that cares to listen. Some of that is altruistic, but the main reason is that you've posted some thought-provoking stuff here...
... and you do so in an entertaining manner; you deserve the kudos.
Oh, man.
ReplyDeleteSorry to jump back in - but if that Mama Diaries blog doesn't win, I am demanding a recount.
That woman can write.
Thank you for the link, Charlie.
@Eric: Thanks for the insights. Your reasoning makes sense and that was actually my line of thinking but I just wasn't *sure* that others would be so accomodating. So far, it's been a lot of fun.
ReplyDelete@Eric: Dude, the Mama Diaries is so very well written it is mind boggling. I hope I can write thaqt good someday!
ReplyDeleteGiven what I have read of your blog so far I can say this.
ReplyDeleteYou really need to read the Elric books. They are awesome.
