[A to Z] O = One Hour Photo

ONE HOUR PHOTO  has a simple premise if you think about it.  Before cell phones and digital cameras, people would use actual film in their cameras.  When the roll of film was full it would be taken to a photo lab and turned in to a technician for them to develop.  You would then come back and pick up your pictures when they were complete.  ONE HOUR PHOTO explores the dark side of this process.  If you think about it there is quite a bit of information that can be learned from using this method; names, family size, address, phone number, etc. and it is all in a physical format.

ONE HOUR PHOTO is a great psychological thriller.  It has been years since I last saw it but I remembered it for this challenge; I plan on picking up a copy as soon as possible.  The biggest draw to this film is Robin Williams.  He plays completely against his usual type - comedy roles - and it is unsettling and intriguing to watch.  Check it out!

  1. Okay, wow, so that IS Robin Williams. I had an "oh, Robin Williams, no it isn't" moment just now. Ha!
The darker side of photography development is also an element in Red Dragon, isn't it? I forget how the book goes, and I've never actually seen the movie, so I'm not going to say more about that, in case I am spoiling something!
Anyway, yes. It is kind of a creepy notion, especially to people who are used to just snapping away with their phones.

    1. Oh, I can understand that. This role is such a departure for Williams that it makes it that much more creepy. I believe you are correct about Red Dragon. It's weird to think about how things have changed over the years.
